Yale School of Music's trumpet program deeply engages students in both solo and ensemble performances across musical styles from classical to contemporary. Weekly private instruction with Kevin Cobb and studio classes form the core of the curriculum. Designed to nurture artistic innovation, the program motivates students to utilize Yale's extensive academic and musical resources. Beyond solo performances, trumpet players actively contribute to chamber groups - a hallmark of the Yale experience. They also perform with diverse ensembles in the New Music New Haven series and as members of the Yale Philharmonia orchestra. These performance platforms allow students to interpret broad musical works under the direction of renowned visiting conductors.
