The Classical Civilization major provides students with a comprehensive approach to studying an entire ancient culture through multiple lenses. This adaptable program enables students to select courses across various departments, customizing their educational path to align with personal interests. Specialization options encompass Greek and Roman literature, history, philosophy, religion, art, and archaeology, spanning from Bronze Age Greece through the Medieval period. Ancient world culture is examined for its artistic merit, historical importance, and relevance to modern societal challenges. Except for mandatory language requirements, all courses use translated materials. During their senior year, majors can pursue an independent research project on a topic of their choice.
Applicants must have a completion of high school.
Applicants will have IELTS scores of 7.0 or higher and Pearson Test scores of 70 or higher. TOEFL scores of at least the following: 100 on the internet-based TOEFL; 25 on the paper-and-paper TOEFL Paper-delivered Test.
