Family nurse practitioners are highly skilled advanced practice nurses with specialized education to deliver primary healthcare, health education, and community case management across diverse environments. Graduates of Wright State University's Family Nurse Practitioner program will be equipped to address the increasing need for primary and preventive care in underserved healthcare settings. This 49-credit hour program prepares students to qualify for the Family Nurse Practitioner Certification exam administered by either the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). Achieving national certification is typically required for advanced practice licensure in the majority of states.
