Wright State University's Master of Arts in Social Work holds accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. This program equips students to develop into skilled, ethical advanced generalist social workers capable of working with diverse communities. Graduate students can choose between full-time (2 years), part-time (3-4 years), or accelerated advanced standing (3 semesters) options.
Earning an M.A. in Social Work fulfills Ohio's educational prerequisites for both LSW and LISW credentials, overseen by the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Note that licensing rules differ across states. Those seeking professional licensure outside Ohio should consult their state's regulatory board. All states mandate a Master of Arts in social work as the initial step toward licensure.
