The Wright State Motion Pictures program's faculty, students, and alumni have earned recognition from nearly every prestigious industry award, including honors from both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Our exceptional team of film professionals is committed to educating the next generation of leaders in film production, as well as in film studies encompassing history, theory, and critical analysis.
The program provides two distinct degree paths. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Motion Picture Production is a competitive program offering specialized training for careers in filmmaking while nurturing creative development and cinematic understanding. Alternatively, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Motion Picture History, Theory, and Criticism merges comprehensive liberal arts education with focused study of film's artistic, cultural, political, and historical dimensions.

Qualification Requirements

To apply to Wright State University, you must have earned a certificate of completion from a secondary education school that would allow you to attend university in your home country. You should have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level.
All transcripts must be submitted directly to your student application portal with university grading scale used to confer degree.
Students must submit their official transcript bearing the university stamp, hologram, seal, or university registrar's signature.
All students must truthfully report their full academic education history, past and current. Failure to do so will result in the delay of processing the application.
You must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum score of English proficiency from one of these tests:
TOEFL:- 61
TOEFL home:- 61
IELTS: 5.5 with no subscore lower than 5.0
IELTS indicator: 5.5 with no subscore lower than 5.0
Pearson PTE: 51
Duolingo: 110
Cambridge test: Minimum scaled score of 162, with no subscore below 154, on the Cambridge English Qualifications.
SAT combined score of 510 on the evidence-based reading and writing portion.
Students who show proof of successful completion of an Intensive English Program from an accredited Institution or program accepted by international admissions are exempt from the requirement to take an approved English Proficiency exam.
