The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice equips students for professional paths in social services, community development, policy evaluation, public sector roles, policing, correctional systems, youth rehabilitation programs, judicial administration, victim support services, private protection, legal fields, and numerous other areas. Below are important national employment figures for sociology and criminal justice professions, sourced from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and PayScale. The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program replaces the previous social services focus within the sociology degree, offering improved education and professional qualifications for positions like social workers, care coordinators, child protection specialists, rehabilitation counselors, and addiction treatment professionals. Our program is currently seeking accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education.
