Along with fulfilling general education requirements and choosing a liberal arts or sciences major, students must complete this specialized professional program to qualify for P-3 teaching certification. All coursework and field experiences within the professional preparation must be taken at the University, unless exceptions are approved by early childhood faculty individually or through formal institutional articulation agreements. Before entering clinical practice and graduating, candidates must pass the Praxis Subject Assessment (previously called Praxis II) in Early Childhood Content.
