Wichita State University's Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in psychology provides three specialized tracks: clinical, community, and human factors psychology. Learners benefit from access to 14 cutting-edge laboratories, research groups, and clinical facilities, along with collaborative research opportunities with faculty that prepare them for professional advancement. Wichita State prioritizes hands-on education - every degree program includes a mandatory applied learning or research component, ensuring students develop practical skills and experience to excel in their careers upon graduation.
The doctoral program requires 90-101 credit hours and must be completed within nine years. While all students share certain core coursework, each of the three specialization areas has distinct requirements.
The curriculum includes a second-year research project, advanced research following the second year, comprehensive examinations, and a doctoral dissertation.
