The Chemical Engineering Accelerated Master's Graduate Degree Program (AGDP) enables undergraduate students to start earning credits toward a master's degree while completing their bachelor's studies. Qualified seniors admitted to the AGDP can enroll in 5000- and 6000-level courses for graduate credit. Between 6 to 12 credit hours from designated 5000/6000-level courses may count toward both undergraduate and graduate requirements, provided students complete their master's within two years of earning their Chemical Engineering bachelor's degree. Participants can opt for either the thesis or non-thesis track when pursuing their Master of Science in Engineering (Chemical), allowing them to fulfill AGDP requirements through a combination of graduate and undergraduate coursework.
Students must have senior standing, a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 (on a 4.00 scale) based on at least 45 earned hours, 15 of which shall be earned at Western Michigan University in CHEG or PAPR courses, and additional criteria as determined by the department.
Students intending to enroll in any AGDP must maintain a 3.00 GPA throughout their baccalaureate degree, or their admission to the AGDP will be revoked.
