This program aims to develop students' skills in teaching, performance, research, and musical creativity across five specializations: Composition, Conducting, Music Therapy, and Performance (covering Instrumental, Jazz Studies, Keyboard, and Voice). The Master of Arts in Music is an advanced research degree requiring a written thesis and public defense. Thesis topics may explore various subjects such as music history, theory, ethnomusicology, historical performance techniques, music technology, or interdisciplinary connections between music and other disciplines.
A Bachelor of Music degree, or its equivalent, including 60 semester hours of acceptable work in music, is required for admission.
