Families form the bedrock of communities worldwide. In our fast-paced modern era, many households grapple with the challenges of daily living, frequently requiring professional guidance to overcome common obstacles.

Western Michigan University's marriage, couple and family counseling program equips students with hands-on skills to address these concerns and beyond. Developed jointly with the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, the curriculum focuses on contemporary relationship and family dynamics.
This comprehensive 60-credit program combines essential counseling coursework with specialized training in family systems theory for therapeutic intervention.

For practical experience, graduate students can utilize two department-run clinics located in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. Additionally, WMU maintains strong partnerships with numerous local school counseling programs that serve as practicum sites.
