The Counseling Psychology Certificate Program is designed for professionals holding a
master's degree in Counseling Psychology or a similar psychology-related MA, who aim to
qualify for Michigan state licensure as either a Temporary Limited License Psychologist
(TLLP) or Limited License Psychologist (LLP). This program fulfills requirements for
those who've applied for licensure but need supplementary graduate-level courses,
practicum experience, or internship training to meet eligibility standards.
Admission to the Certificate Program in Counseling Psychology is based upon grade point average, educational background
Minimum English proficiency test scores:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 80 iBT
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: 6.5
Pearson Test of English, Academic Module (PTE): 54
Michigan English Test (MET): 57
Application deadlines:
The department has three different application deadlines for the Certificate Program in Counseling Psychology admissions during the year: January 15, for ensuing Summer and Fall sessions/semester, May 15, also for the ensuing Fall semester, and September 15 for the following Spring semester.
