The Ceramics Area equips students with core principles and vocational expertise to thrive as artists, craftspeople, and designers. Learners gain exposure to all aspects of professional ceramics, encompassing hand-forming techniques, wheel-throwing methods, slip casting and mold creation, clay and glaze development, plus kiln operation and studio operations. The program encourages students to investigate clay's potential and associated materials to enhance their artistic and design work while engaging with functional considerations, creative vision, and current cultural themes. Coursework pushes students to analyze their creations and peers' work thoughtfully, developing the ability to express well-founded concepts that deepen their grasp of diverse approaches, from traditional methods to cutting-edge innovations.
