The B.B. in Management degree program emphasizes practical professional management skills, allowing students the flexibility to focus on such areas as organizational behaviororganization development, small business management, and operations management. Management is a diverse and applied field of study. Therefore, the objectives of the program include 1) preparing generalists who integrate and coordinate organizational activities of marketing, finance, accounting, operations, and human resources in order to meet organizational goals, and 2) preparing specialists who focus on management analysis, information systems, policy and strategic analysis, and the management of a single operation. Typical placements include general management, retailing management, hotelmotel management, and operations management positions in manufacturing and service organizations, computer-related occupations, high technology administration, organization development consulting, health care administration, government services, and non-profit organization administration. Management faculty strongly recommend that Management majors engage in an enrichment activity from among the following: an internship, a Study Abroad program, or a minor.
