To address the evolving landscape of occupational therapy and healthcare, WVU launched an entry-level OTD program in 2021, which achieved full ACOTE accreditation in 2023. This doctoral program focuses on hands-on, experiential education to cultivate the next generation of healthcare leaders. OTD students gain specialized training in leadership, research methodologies, and evidence-based approaches. The capstone experience allows students to deepen their expertise through practical projects in areas like clinical care, advocacy, research, or program design while pursuing their professional interests.
