Webster University's Dance Department within the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts prepares students to develop as technically proficient, imaginative, and empathetic artists, equipping them for diverse professional paths in performance, choreography, teaching, and academic research in the modern era.

Program Objectives
Performance: Execute various dance techniques and styles with professional competence, showcasing expressive range and technical mastery.
Choreography: Develop original works that reflect comprehension and experimentation with core choreographic principles, while demonstrating the capacity to analyze and discuss these elements in others' compositions.
Instruction: Design and implement outstanding, creative instructional materials for different age groups, techniques, and communities, while cultivating effective movement communication skills.
Scholarship: Investigate personal research topics with intellectual curiosity and scholarly discipline.

Qualification Requirements

A completed online application for undergraduate admission. Students may submit the University's institutional application or The Common Application. Equal consideration is given to both during the admission review.
An official high school transcript and external exams (if applicable in applicant's home country). All transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
Proof of English language proficiency. See English Language Proficiency section below for approved methods.
A 300- to 500-word essay on a topic of the student's choice, such as a special interest, significant experience or notable achievement.
Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (equivalent) or better (on a 4.0 scale) on all previous academic work.
Successful completion of the ELS Language Center's for Academic Purposes or ELS Language Center Level 112 (must have valid ELS 112 Certificate of Completion).
Successful completion of the University of Central Florida's Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies (CMMS) Intensive English Program (must have valid completion certificate).
