Pathologists' assistants are crucial in diagnostic processes. Their duties span surgical and forensic settings, encompassing tasks like analyzing and dissecting anatomical pathology samples, conducting autopsies, overseeing lab operations, and teaching. With Wayne State being among only 15 accredited North American programs offering this specialized training, admission is extremely selective, accepting just 12-14 candidates annually. Successful applicants undergo rigorous hands-on training across diverse clinical settings, leading to 100% employment rates within six months post-graduation. We aim to produce exceptional pathologists' assistants who demonstrate superior competence and consistently surpass practice standards in both surgical pathology and autopsy procedures for medical and legal institutions.
