Harvard School of Dental Medicine offers an Oral Medicine Residency program designed for dentists seeking rigorous preparation for academic or institutional careers. This comprehensive training takes place across Harvard-affiliated hospitals such as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Participants hold dual Resident appointments at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. The CODA-accredited program spans four years (three years with tuition and one with a facilities fee), incorporating master's-level coursework and concluding with both a completion certificate and a Master of Medical Sciences degree from HSDM. The program provides no stipend and accepts one new resident annually, with a mid-June start date.
