Wayne State's world history certification equips both current and aspiring educators to teach world history at middle school, high school, or higher education levels. The growing need for qualified world history instructors in recent years makes this program valuable, offering essential knowledge and professional qualifications for teaching in this discipline.

Since this certification requires only coursework (with no thesis or capstone project), it's perfect for continuing education students interested in global historical studies who aren't prepared for the greater commitment of a full master's degree program.

Current graduate students enrolled in history master's programs, public history master's programs, any combined history degree programs, or doctoral history studies can simultaneously pursue the world history certificate by submitting a status change form and completing a certificate program plan.
