Graduate program admission is open to students with undergraduate degrees in fields outside Civil Engineering, including related disciplines like mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, and others. However, such students might be required to take supplementary coursework to address any gaps in their preparation. Note that deficiency courses cannot count toward the degree requirements. Working with their graduate committee, each student will create a personalized study plan detailing the necessary coursework for degree completion. This curriculum can include graduate-level offerings and approved undergraduate courses within their specialization area. Students also have the option to incorporate relevant courses from other programs within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department or other university departments. The doctoral program is customized to align with each candidate's academic goals and research interests.
