This program explores human growth across all life stages, examining how individuals and families evolve, adapt, and overcome obstacles. You'll learn to develop empathetic, person-centered approaches to real-world issues. Our curriculum focuses on developmental processes from childhood through adulthood, investigating how people change during different life phases. As an interdisciplinary department, we're committed to analyzing human development within family systems, educational environments, and community settings. Our academic programs, research initiatives, and community engagement efforts support the wellbeing of individuals and families both in Washington state and across the country.
