The Translational and Health System Science initiative was developed to equip practicing clinicians with research expertise, enabling them to become clinician-researchers who can effectively bridge scientific discoveries and enhanced patient care. Upon completion, participants earn a Master of Science degree.
This graduate program is overseen by the Biomedical Graduate Programs Office at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, with the primary objective of delivering specialized training in research methodologies and professional competencies. These skills empower graduates to conduct impactful studies within healthcare systems and communities, ultimately advancing public health outcomes. Our curriculum has continuously adapted over three decades to address the changing requirements of clinicians seeking to broaden their expertise and transition into research-oriented roles.
