The Master of Forestry (M.F.) is a non-thesis program designed for individuals with either a background in sustainable biomaterials seeking advanced knowledge or those new to the field. Alongside graduate-level coursework aligned with the student's academic goals, the program requires a significant research paper worth 3-6 credit hours. Students must complete at least 33 credit hours (including the degree paper) while maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA. The program culminates with an oral exam covering coursework and the research paper, following all Graduate School examination policies. The Master of Science (M.S.) focuses on original research under faculty guidance, with advanced coursework supporting the research project. Students produce a thesis and are encouraged to publish their findings in academic journals. This degree prepares graduates for professional advancement or doctoral studies.
