The Sociology program explores our interconnected society and examines how diverse groups influence human actions. Since all human conduct occurs within social contexts, sociologists investigate subjects ranging from intimate relationships to worldwide networks. The curriculum addresses critical societal concerns including racial and gender disparities, economic hardship, psychological well-being, criminal behavior, LGBTQ+ topics, and challenges related to age and disability discrimination.
Students frequently acquire practical knowledge via internships in social services, therapy, legal systems, teaching, corporate and nonprofit sectors, policy research, and public administration.
