Our Master of Social Work Program helps students explore these critical questions. With rigorous coursework, hands-on research, and practical field experience, students can refine their expertise as advanced practitioners and policy leaders, preparing to create meaningful change in the communities they serve. The full-time on-campus track involves taking four three-credit courses plus a three-credit field placement each semester across two years, totaling 60 credits. Following a foundational first year, students specialize in either clinical social work practice or social work administration, planning, and policy practice (disclaimer). The program includes two field placements—one in each academic year. First-year students typically commit 14 weekly hours to their generalist placement, while second-year students devote 21 hours per week to their specialization. These hours are generally completed during standard business hours.

All applicants must have passed with a "C" or above, a minimum of one three-credit class in the behavioral sciences and one three-credit class in the social sciences. These classes may include psychology, sociology, math, biology, political science, economics, history, etc. Applicants who do not meet the prerequisite criteria are admitted provisionally with enough time to register for and complete the course requirement at a university or community college of their choice.
