The Community Change Pathway empowers students to cultivate a thoughtful, reflective grasp of the theories, frameworks, and competencies essential for driving meaningful transformation across diverse communities. This encompasses exploring multiple methodologies for fostering change, such as grassroots organizing, neighborhood development, urban planning, policy advocacy at the community level, participatory education, along with the specific tactics and critical factors relevant to each approach. The pathway emphasizes analyzing community dynamics while examining power structures, systemic advantages, marginalization, practical application, and equity within community transformation initiatives. We strive to blend historical perspectives with contemporary innovations, incorporating real-life case studies and firsthand accounts from change-makers. Our curriculum integrates Community and Social Services principles across all coursework.
