The VCU Department of Biostatistics aims to enhance public health by advancing statistical methodology, training graduate students and health researchers in biostatistical techniques, and partnering in health science investigations. Our faculty pursue research innovations inspired by real-world collaborations, simultaneously strengthening our educational programs. Through this dual emphasis on methodological development and practical application, students cultivate robust analytical abilities and communication expertise, preparing them for prominent roles in academic institutions, public agencies, and corporate settings.
Applicants for the M.S. in Biostatistics may choose to complete the verbal, quantitative and analytical writing sections of the Graduate Record Exam; this is not a requirement for admission. An applicant may satisfy university English proficiency requirements by obtaining a satisfactory score on the TOEFL.
