The Master of Health Administration program equips individuals for leadership roles, guiding them toward executive positions in healthcare organizations. The curriculum focuses on both strategic and operational management, exposing students to the wide range of challenges and responsibilities they'll face in healthcare administration. This program is built on the understanding that many students aim to reach senior executive roles in healthcare. Designed for full-time study, the M.H.A. program first earned accreditation in 1968—among the earliest in the U.S.—and has maintained this recognition ever since, receiving a seven-year reaccreditation in 2017. A key component of VCU's M.H.A. program is the administrative residency/internship, which allows students to apply and enhance their skills in real-world settings under the guidance of seasoned executives serving as mentors.
In addition to the general admission requirements of the VCU Graduate School, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA for all undergraduate work completed
A working knowledge of college-level algebra

GRE/GMAT scores (currently waived by admissions committee)
English language proficiency scores (if international applicant)
Professional resume

Present evidence of personal achievement, scholarship, intellectual ability and professional promise (personal statement)
