The 4+1 program enables students to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in five years by starting graduate coursework during their fourth year.
With one of the largest undergraduate programs in Vanderbilt's College of Arts and Science, the Mathematics Department serves numerous majors and teaches extensive credit hours annually, offering over 150 classes plus additional mathematics immersion opportunities.
This accelerated 4+1 program from the College of Arts & Science lets students obtain dual degrees in five years rather than six, perfect for driven, high-achieving students who:
Require a master's for specific career paths
Seek to enhance their graduate or professional school applications
Have a strong academic interest in their discipline and desire deeper study
The 4+1 program provides significant time and cost savings compared to conventional master's degree pathways through its intensive curriculum.
