Valpo offers one of the region's rare astronomy programs designed specifically for undergraduates. Here, you can pursue your fascination with the cosmos through immersive study, backed by a tight-knit student network and personalized faculty guidance. You'll gain hands-on experience operating our 16-inch campus observatory, remotely accessing our telescopes in Arizona, Chile, and the Canary Islands, and processing data from the Hubble Space Telescope and other leading global observatories (both terrestrial and orbital). As a senior, you'll have the opportunity to create your own astronomy research project for your capstone, along with the chance to participate in paid summer research alongside professors.
