The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, home to the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, stands among the top 2% of graduate education colleges nationwide. Recognized as third in the country for research funding received, this ranking comes from U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools. The department operates through three specialized areas: audiology, speech-language pathology, and deaf education. For the speech-language pathology program, MS candidates must fulfill research requirements, while MA candidates complete a comprehensive exam. Both degrees hold equal standing in clinical and academic speech-language pathology environments. The MEd program specifically prepares students for careers in deaf education.
