Through a partnership agreement with Utah System of Technical Colleges (USTC) and Utah State University, you can apply your USTC certificatecredential toward an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in General Technology. Following the completion of an approved USTC certificate and being admitted to USU, you must successfully complete the USU requirements in a chosen emphasis area. Upon graduation, your USTC certificate will be converted to 30 USU credit hours and you will be awarded a USU Associate of Applied Science degree in General Technology. For a list of approved USTC certificates and USU emphases, contact your local USTC student services office and a USU advisor. General Business Emphasis: Students will be provided a well-rounded study of basic business skills in computer applications, accounting, organizational behavior, marketing, communication, information technology, and other various business support skills. Non-technical skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and professionalism, are emphasized in each course and students can choose to work toward obtaining Microsoft Office certifications or other industry certifications that will enhance their resume and offer concrete evidence of superior computer skills.
