The Physical Education Teaching program prepares students for K-12 physical education certification in Wyoming's public schools. This NASPE/CAEP-accredited program meets national standards for physical education teacher preparation and is renowned for blending academic concepts with hands-on experience, including numerous K-12 teaching practicums throughout the curriculum. Students can also pursue additional certifications in K-12 health education, adapted physical education, and coaching. Graduates enjoy outstanding job placement rates - of the 130 alumni from 2008-2018, 83% now hold full-time teaching or administrative positions, with over half working as health and PE instructors within Wyoming. The program maintains strong ties with WAHPERD (Wyoming's professional organization) and serves as an ideal choice for aspiring K-12 physical educators and coaches.
