Computer science students explore both theoretical and applied aspects of computing, a crucial field in today's digital age. Earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science equips graduates to create, develop, and protect software-driven systems. To complete the degree, students must fulfill all University Studies Program (USP) requirements while completing 120 credit hours, with a minimum of 42 upper-level credits.
Many required Computer Science courses and concentration classes already satisfy USP requirements, eliminating the need for additional coursework.
The Computer Science curriculum prepares graduates to accomplish the following objectives:
Examine complex computational challenges and utilize computing principles along with related fields to develop solutions.
Create, build, and assess computing solutions that satisfy specific technical requirements within the discipline.
Communicate professionally across diverse settings.
Understand ethical obligations and exercise sound decision-making in computing practices considering legal and moral standards.
Collaborate successfully as either team members or leaders in discipline-appropriate projects.
Utilize computer science principles and software engineering basics to develop computational solutions.
