Animal and veterinary science is a practical degree program where you'll explore topics involving livestock production and animal care. You'll cover areas ranging from animal biology and dietary needs to business strategies, food processing, biochemistry, and microbial studies, allowing you to tailor your education to your professional goals.
While you'll master essential scientific principles, you'll also gain hands-on experience like examining cows through fistulation, working directly with farm animals, or researching illnesses impacting Wyoming's domestic and wild animal populations.
The Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) program is a collaborative effort between the Animal Science Department and Veterinary Sciences Department. Their combined faculty expertise supports all eight specialization tracks.
