The animal and veterinary science program offers a practical, immersive curriculum focused on meat-animal production and animal welfare. You'll explore diverse topics ranging from animal physiology and nutrition to marketing, meat processing, organic chemistry, and microbiology, allowing you to tailor your degree to your professional aspirations.
While gaining essential scientific knowledge for your career, you'll also engage in hands-on experiences like working with cannulated cows, managing livestock on farms, or researching diseases impacting Wyoming's animals and wildlife.
This Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) major is a collaborative effort between the Department of Animal Science and the Department of Veterinary Sciences, with faculty expertise spanning eight specialized concentrations.
