This undergraduate program provides initial teaching certification, awarding graduates a dual Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education with a concurrent Mathematics major. It equips students to teach Mathematics to middle and high school students (grades 6-12).
The program requires completion of at least 120 credit hours. Students must maintain a grade of C or higher in all major courses. Most upper-level education courses, including EDSE 4500 Residency in Teaching, demand a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA from the University of Wyoming. Additionally, a 2.50 GPA is mandatory for major content courses, with at least 42 credits at the upper-division level.
Before beginning any fieldwork or practicum, students must complete an initial background check. The cost for this first background check is included in student fees; consult your College of Education advisor for specific instructions.
