The Department of Geography collaborates with the cross-disciplinary Earth System Science (ESS) program, allowing students to combine Geography and ESS coursework for a Bachelor of Science degree with a Geography specialization. For more than five decades, the Geography Program has served as an integrative hub for exploring global human-environment relationships. Through examining Earth's socio-political, cultural, and physical landscapes and their interconnectedness, geography students develop transdisciplinary problem-solving skills essential for our complex, interdependent world. At the University of Wyoming, the Geography Program unites faculty from various disciplines to educate students about: Earth's major challenges from both physical and human perspectives, Complementary methodologies from natural and social sciences, The significance of spatial relationships across different scales, and Critical analysis of linkages between Earth's physical systems and cultural, economic, and political frameworks.
