The Drawing program equips students with fundamental observational abilities by exploring the descriptive and expressive capabilities of diverse drawing materials. Introductory classes build the technical and conceptual knowledge needed to excel across all visual art forms. Drawing is recognized as both a primary instrument for visual problem-solving and an independent artistic discipline. Beginners focus on enhancing their proficiency in proportion, shading, form, contour, spatial illusion, and composition through still life, portraiture, interior scenes, and landscapes. Figure drawing encompasses both precise anatomical examination and creative personal representations. Advanced courses enable students to expand their drawing practice by experimenting with size, mixed materials, conceptual frameworks, and innovative interdisciplinary methods.
