The Master of Urban Planning (MUP) is a professional degree program that equips students for careers in government planning departments, nonprofit sectors, or private consulting. This two-year curriculum holds full accreditation from the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB). While applicants aren't required to have particular undergraduate majors, many students enter with academic backgrounds in fields like Architecture, Geography, Political Science, Engineering, Urban Studies, and Business.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
A TOEFL IBT, Academic IELTS, CAE/CPE, or Duolingo score that meets the requirement for admission,
A bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) or higher degree from an institution where English is the sole language of instruction. The following criteria must also be met:
You must have attended this institution for at least one year and your degree was earned within two years of your application to UWM.
You must have attended this institution for at least one year and the degree was earned at an institution in the United States, and you have lived and worked continuously in the U.S since earning the degree. Cambridge English: Advanced / Cambridge English Proficiency C1 level or higher. TOEFL IBT (not Home Edition) - 79 120, IELTS - 6.5 9.0.
