The Master of Architecture I (M.Arch I) is an NAAB-accredited professional degree that equips graduates for architectural licensure. Beyond this core purpose, our M.Arch I curriculum cultivates creative designers, critical thinkers, and industry leaders across diverse fields including architectural practice, sustainable ecological design, urban planning, construction innovation, and community development throughout Milwaukee and surrounding regions. The program features two distinct pathways tailored for students with or without prior architecture-related undergraduate degrees.
Our M.Arch programs attract candidates from varied academic, professional, and personal experiences - diversity we actively celebrate and nurture at SARUP. This inclusive approach aligns with our dedication to educational accessibility: through initiatives like the Midwest Student Exchange and Minnesota Reciprocity agreements, we provide cost-effective graduate architecture education to broader student populations. Exceptional non-Wisconsin applicants may qualify for in-state tuition rates via our annual merit-based scholarship program, which automatically considers all out-of-state candidates during the admissions process.
