The epidemiology PhD program equips graduates for diverse career opportunities in academic institutions, NGOs, and government agencies across local, national, and global levels. Our epidemiology faculty specialize in various research areas including health disparities, chronic illnesses, cancer studies, nutritional epidemiology, methodological approaches, and environmental health factors. Students receive comprehensive training in theory and methodology, enabling them to perform autonomous research on health patterns and causes, while applying their discoveries to shape public health policies and population health initiatives. We welcome applicants from varied backgrounds who demonstrate a strong passion for epidemiological studies and advancing health equality.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet Graduate School requirements plus these departmental requirements to be considered for admission to the program:
Submission of scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), taken within 5 years of the date of application. While there is not a minimum GRE score requirement, strong quantitative, verbal and writing skills are critical to successfully completing the program.
Three letters of recommendation are required. At least one letter must be from a university faculty member.
Applicants should have an earned bachelor's degree in any field with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A completed Master's degree in Epidemiology, public health or the social sciences is encouraged, but not required.
At least one undergraduate mathematics or statistics course and one biological sciences course with a 3.0 is preferred.
You must have attended this institution for at least one year and the degree was earned at an institution in the United States, and you have lived and worked continuously in the U.S since earning the degree. Cambridge English: Advanced / Cambridge English Proficiency C1 level or higher. TOEFL IBT (not Home Edition) - 79 120, IELTS - 6.5 9.0.
