Health psychology examines psychological factors affecting wellness and disease, playing a pivotal role in modern healthcare. The program provides education in health promotion research and theory. Collaborative projects between faculty and students address diverse topics including gender-related health issues, cancer prevention initiatives, reproductive health and STI prevention strategies, patient empowerment and self-management, stress impacts and coping mechanisms, and child maltreatment prevention. Studies occur in both laboratory environments and clinical contexts, with numerous faculty maintaining active community partnerships in Milwaukee.
