The department's core focus revolves around the theme of Evolving Landscapes, structured around three primary research directions that address growing professional needs. Beyond these departmental specializations, professors utilize skills in remote sensing, GIS, and mapping to tackle urban challenges. Geography faculty also contribute to the interdisciplinary GIS certificate program, a collaborative initiative between the College of Letters and Science and the College of Arts & Architecture.
