The Biomedical Sciences Program, Criminal Justice Program, along with the Anthropology and Chemistry Departments collaborate to provide three forensic science certificates. These programs, supported by the College of Letters and Science, the College of Health Professions and Sciences, and the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, equip students with fundamental skills for careers in law enforcement, death investigation, pathology, and toxicology. Available certificates include Death Investigation, Forensic Science, and Forensic Toxicology. The coursework aligns with professional certification standards when relevant (such as Medicolegal Death Investigation and Toxicological Chemist qualifications).

Qualification Requirements

All applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
An approved test score that meets the requirement for regular or conditional admission.
University study: Completion of at least 18 months of full-time, for-credit academic study (approximately three semesters) at a recognized or accredited institution of higher education whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM.
Secondary/high school study: Proof of completion of the last two years of secondary/high school at an institution whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM. TOEFL IBT - 79 or higher, TOEFL PBT - 548 or higher, IELTS - 6.5
