In the role of a cytotechnologist, you will employ advanced techniques to analyze human cells. Your responsibilities include creating cellular slides and inspecting them under a microscope to identify alterations resulting from various diseases, including cancer. Typically working independently or in compact teams, cytotechnologists dedicate much of their time in lab settings with microscopes. You will process and stain cells from diverse specimen sources, using microscopy to assess and aid in diagnosing cancerous cells or other irregularities, offering initial analyses for pathologists and referring doctors.
