The UWL Biology Department maintains undergraduate and graduate programs in biological sciences, featuring cutting-edge equipment and facilities for both coursework and research. Undergraduate research spans numerous biological fields, with most students conducting independent projects under faculty guidance. Courses and research utilize our local learning environment—the Mississippi River and La Crosse River Marsh.
Biology examines all living organisms, from microscopic bacteria and viruses to plants and animals. UWL's biology program encompasses diverse disciplines ranging from molecular to ecosystem studies.
Applicant must have completion of secondary or post-secondary from institution.
English Language Proficiency
Applicant must have TOEFL score of 73 with IELTS score of 6.0 and PTE score of 54. In addition completion of ELS level 112 and completion of WESLI level 700 is required.
Priority application deadlines are 15 December for the January/Spring semester and 15 July for the September/Fall semester.
