The Spanish Undergraduate Program offers classes covering language, literature, linguistics, and cultural studies. Both daytime and evening course options are available to accommodate students' varied schedules. Beginners with no prior Spanish experience should start with Spanish 103. Students with high school Spanish background may qualify for higher-level courses based on their placement test scores and years of previous study. Spanish 103 is mandatory for students without any prior Spanish instruction. Those with high school Spanish experience must complete the placement exam (assessing grammar and reading skills) before registration - this test is compulsory for students with two or more years of high school Spanish.
