This program explores the dynamic field of international security studies. Alongside traditional state-centric security concepts, the curriculum addresses diverse topics such as public health crises, ecological challenges, humanitarian concerns, conflict resolution strategies, modern warfare, grassroots activism, population displacement, cultural diversity, and personal identity formation. The Global Security concentration equips graduates for professional opportunities in conflict resolution and sustainable development, including positions within governmental bodies, diplomatic services, non-governmental organizations, global institutions, and policy research circles.

Qualification Requirements
All applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
An approved test score that meets the requirement for regular or conditional admission.
University study: Completion of at least 18 months of full-time, for-credit academic study (approximately three semesters) at a recognized or accredited institution of higher education whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM.
Secondary/high school study: Proof of completion of the last two years of secondary/high school at an institution whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM. TOEFL IBT - 79 or higher, TOEFL PBT - 548 or higher, IELTS - 6.5
