The Department of Physics boasts a long-standing reputation for excellence in graduate education and research across diverse fields including astrophysics, atomic/molecular/optical physics, condensed matter physics, particle physics, plasma physics, quantum computing, and string theory. Our cutting-edge research facilities support groundbreaking work. The department employs an extensive team of 45 full-time faculty members, joint-appointment professors, research scientists, and postdoctoral fellows. Our vibrant academic community includes more than 175 international graduate students representing numerous countries worldwide.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
